Authorities have captured a fifth fugitive days after 10 inmates escaped from the Orleans Parish Justice Center, a decaying jail facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Corey Boyd, 19, was apprehended on Tuesday, May 20, by Louisiana State Police (LSP) in the Iberville neighborhood. Boyd was among the group of inmates who broke out of the facility around 1 a.m. on Friday.
According to an official statement from LSP, Boyd was originally incarcerated for multiple serious offenses, including Second Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Threatening a Public Official.

Other Escapees Already Captured
Four other inmates were quickly tracked down and re-arrested after the mass escape:
- Dkenan Dennis, 24, was caught walking along a city street shortly after the jailbreak on Friday.
- Kendell Myles, 20, was discovered hiding beneath a car at a local hotel that same day.
- Robert Moody, 21, was found sleeping on a public bus bench Friday night, reportedly exhausted and hungry after being on the run for 16 hours.
- Gary C. Price, 21, was taken into custody in New Orleans East on Monday.
All four inmates have since been transferred to the Louisiana State Penitentiary, commonly known as Angola Prison. They are now under 23-hour-a-day lockdown in the high-security facility.

Jail Worker Accused of Aiding Escape
On Tuesday, officials arrested a maintenance worker from the jail accused of assisting the inmates in their escape. His involvement raises serious concerns about internal security and oversight at the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
Five Inmates Still at Large – Public Warned
As of now, five inmates remain on the run, and authorities have launched a statewide manhunt to locate them. All five are considered armed and dangerous, and the public is urged not to approach them.
A $40,000 reward is being offered for information leading to their capture.
