President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are scheduled to speak on Friday following their heated public feud that erupted on Thursday due to their disagreement over the former’s “big, beautiful bill.”
The world’s richest man, who recently left the Trump administration, has been increasingly vocal about his opposition to the president’s signature legislation—a tax and spending bill that could potentially increase the national debt and eliminate a tax credit for electric vehicles that benefits Musk’s Tesla business.
After calling the bill a “disgusting abomination” on Tuesday, the billionaire urged senators to “kill” it before the spat finally reached its boiling point when Trump responded in the Oval Office.
Trump expressed disappointment, stating that Elon Musk, who was well-versed in the bill’s inner workings, had no qualms about it.
On X, Musk disputed the allegation, claiming that the bill was rushed through Congress in the dead of night, leaving no time for Congress to thoroughly review it.
The tech mogul further alleged that Trump would have lost the previous year’s election without his support. He also claimed that the government’s files on pedophile Jeffrey Epstein are being withheld because they mention the president and called for his impeachment.
