Candace Owens Says Trump Asked Her to Stop Claiming Brigitte Macron Is a Man

Candace Owens says former President Donald Trump personally asked her to stop spreading rumors about Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to Owens, the request came after the Macrons filed a slander lawsuit against her in Delaware over an 8-part podcast series where she questioned Brigitte Macron’s gender. Brigitte, 72, has three biological children from a previous marriage.

In a new interview with Tucker Carlson, Owens claims Trump called her directly in February shortly after Macron visited the White House.

“I got a call from someone high up at the White House, telling me to stop talking about Brigitte,” Owens told Carlson. “Then Trump called me himself.”

She says Trump told her that Macron had pulled him aside during discussions about Ukraine and Russia to bring up her name.

“Emmanuel Macron flew to D.C. just to ask Trump to tell me to shut up,” she said.

Owens described Trump as sounding puzzled by the request.

“He said, ‘You must be a very powerful person, Candace,’” she recalled. “He told me Brigitte was upset and that it was affecting her.”

Trump also told her he had dinner with the Macrons at the top of the Eiffel Tower and added, “She looks like a woman to me.”

Owens said she agreed to ease up for now but she stopped short of promising to drop the topic completely.
