American singer Chris Brown is experiencing a positive development in one of his legal battles. The man who accused him of a brutal attack in London has officially withdrawn his lawsuit.
Abe Diaw, who filed a civil suit in 2023, claimed that the R&B star assaulted him with a tequila bottle during an appearance at TAPE nightclub.
According to Diaw’s account, Brown struck him three times with a Don Julio 1942 bottle and continued to “ruthlessly stomp” on him while he was unconscious, resulting in serious injuries.
However, on Friday, Diaw filed paperwork in Los Angeles County, requesting a judge to dismiss the case with prejudice. This legal term signifies that the suit cannot be refiled, often indicating a private settlement.
It’s important to note that this dismissal does not absolve Chris Brown of all legal consequences. A criminal case is still pending in the United Kingdom, related to the same incident that occurred on that wild night.
In the UK, prosecutors charged Brown with assault and possession of a weapon after his arrest earlier this year. He was taken into custody shortly after arriving in the country for his world tour.
Brown was later released on bail and appeared in court approximately ten days ago to enter a not-guilty plea.
