Driver dies after car and double-decker bus collide in crash on major road

A tragic incident occurred on a major road in Cambridgeshire, resulting in the loss of a driver’s life.

Emergency crews responded swiftly to Guyhirn on the A47 at approximately 2:45 p.m. yesterday, following reports of a severe collision.

Following the crash, a 7-mile stretch of the busy road between Rings End roundabout and Wisbech was closed.

Cambridgeshire Police has confirmed today that the driver of the car tragically lost their life in the collision.

This busy stretch of road typically sees at least 20,000 vehicles passing through each day.

While the exact circumstances of the crash are still being investigated, a double-decker bus can be seen lying in a field next to the road, with its windscreen smashed.
