JFK Grandson Jack Schlossberg Mocks Melania Trump Over Letter to Putin

Jack Schlossberg, grandson of John F. Kennedy, drew backlash after mocking U.S. First Lady Melania Trump over a letter she sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin about children affected by the war in Ukraine.

In a video posted on social media, Schlossberg, 32, wore a blonde wig and spoke in a Slovenian accent while reading the letter aloud. He captioned the clip in capital letters, mimicking Donald Trump’s style: “A message from our BEAUTIFUL FIRST LADY … thank you for your attention to this matter, We want peace!” He later added, “What am I saying? This make no sense. Please be more specific Miss Melania Trump.”

Trump personally delivered the letter to Putin during their summit in Alaska last week. It urged the Russian leader to “protect the innocence of children” and to “single-handedly restore” the “melodic laughter” of those affected, though it did not explicitly mention Ukraine.

Schlossberg, a frequent critic of the Trump administration, recently opposed proposals to rename the Kennedy Center Opera House after Melania Trump. In his latest post, he also joked that he would help Trump achieve his “life-long goal” of renaming the center if he released his “Epstein files.”

Appointed last month to the America250 Commission by Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, Schlossberg thanked Schumer for his “leadership at this critical hour,” vowing not to let him down.

Commentators said Melania Trump’s letter underscores her ongoing influence behind the scenes, with CNN’s Kate Bennett noting it highlights both her concern for children and her alignment with her husband’s conservative values.
