Mbappé Climbs to Sixth on Champions League Scoring List

Kylian Mbappé has added another milestone to his glittering career, moving into joint-sixth place on the Champions League’s all-time scoring chart after netting twice in Real Madrid’s 2–1 win over Marseille.

The 26-year-old forward converted two penalties at the Santiago Bernabéu, taking his tally in Europe’s premier competition to 57 goals level with Thomas Müller and one ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy (56). Mbappé reached the figure in 88 appearances, while Van Nistelrooy managed his total in just 73.

The brace also extended Mbappé’s electric start to the 2025–26 season, with six goals in five matches for Madrid. Since joining from Paris Saint-Germain, he has scored 50 times in 64 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Real’s victory in Xabi Alonso’s Champions League debut as coach was not without drama. Trent Alexander-Arnold limped off with a hamstring injury, and Dani Carvajal was sent off late in the match.

Mbappé now sits within striking distance of Müller and is poised to climb higher in the all-time rankings. The leaderboard remains headed by Cristiano Ronaldo (140), Lionel Messi (129), Robert Lewandowski (105), Karim Benzema (90), and Raúl (71).
