An Ohio man has been indicted for allegedly plotting the cold-blooded murder of his pregnant girlfriend on the very day she was due to give birth — just days after asking his boss for bereavement leave to mourn her death.
Prosecutors say Kayvon Warren, 30, conspired with two accomplices to kill 26-year-old India Kinamore inside her Colerain Township home on March 4, 2023.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich described the killing as “heartbreaking”:
“This should have been one of the happiest days of India’s life. Instead, the father of the child conspired with two others to kill her. My office will see that justice is done for both India and her baby.”
Warren, who was allegedly seeing another woman and facing financial struggles after losing his home, had tried to pressure Kinamore into an abortion. When she refused, prosecutors say he hired Robert Ervin, 20, and Lamar Morris Suggs, 22, to stage her murder as a burglary gone wrong.
The trio allegedly broke into Kinamore’s home around 6 a.m. and fatally shot her before fleeing.
Detectives from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Colerain Police Department pieced the case together through dozens of interviews, financial records, and phone data.
Last week, a grand jury returned a 13-count indictment charging Warren, Ervin, and Suggs with aggravated murder, burglary, and felony assault. Ervin and Suggs also face weapons charges.
- Kayvon Warren: held without bail at Hamilton County jail
- Robert Ervin: jailed on $300,000 bail
- Lamar Morris Suggs: bail details not immediately available
If convicted, all three men face up to life in prison.
