Rapper Nelly to Perform at Donald Trump’s Inauguration Ball

Rapper Nelly, born Cornell Haynes Jr., is among the renowned stars set to perform at Donald Trump’s Inaugural Liberty Ball in the U.S. Capitol on January 20.

Sources close to the event planning have revealed that the 50-year-old rapper will join the iconic Village People and the country music star Jason Aldean as the entertainment for the night. CBS reported on this exciting announcement.

In the past, Nelly expressed his negative sentiments towards Donald Trump. In 2017, he candidly admitted that he didn’t particularly care for Trump. He explained to Page Six, “You know the thing about Donald Trump is that I liked Donald Trump, I did, but I just don’t like Donald Trump as my president. He doesn’t surprise me as a person; he surprises me as a president because you don’t expect certain things, certain attitudes.”

On January 20th, Carrie Underwood and Christopher Macchio will perform during Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, which commences at noon ET.

Mississippi Valley State University’s marching band will perform during the upcoming parade, despite facing criticism and ridicule for accepting former President Trump’s invitation. However, university officials have dismissed these criticisms, viewing this moment as not only a source of pride for the university but also for the entire state of Mississippi.

University president Jerryl Briggs emphasized that this participation presents an opportunity to showcase the university’s legacy, celebrate its culture, and invest in the future leaders of the community. Moreover, it allows students to engage in the peaceful transition of power and gain global exposure while simultaneously celebrating the university’s 75th anniversary.
