There will be no World War III if we are smart — Trump

US President Donald Trump dismissed fears of a potential global conflict, declaring that “World War III” will not start in the Middle East following the signing of the Gaza peace deal in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday, October 13.

“There won’t be World War III hopefully at all but it’s not gonna start in the Middle East,” Trump said during remarks alongside other world leaders at the US-brokered ceasefire summit.

He continued, “I’ve read many times that World War III would begin in the Middle East. It’s not gonna happen. There was a time one might have thought it possible, but not anymore.”

The President stressed that diplomacy and restraint were key to preventing future global conflicts, adding, “We are not gonna have a World War III if we are smart.”

Trump outlined the humanitarian and security priorities of the newly signed Gaza peace plan, warning that aid must not be used to fund violence or terror. “We’ve all agreed that supporting Gaza must be done to lift up the people themselves. We don’t want to fund anything to do with bloodshed, hatred, or terror as has happened in the past,” he said.

He also called for Gaza to be “demilitarized” and proposed the creation of a new civilian police force to protect residents and maintain stability.

Reaffirming US commitment to the region, Trump added, “Gaza, as I said earlier, I intend to be a partner in securing a better future. You are going to be working with the United States. We are going to make sure the Middle East is a safe and secure place it is a very important place in the world.”

Earlier in the day, Trump joined leaders from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey key mediators of the deal for the official signing ceremony. He hailed the agreement as a historic milestone and urged continued cooperation to ensure lasting peace.
