NFL star Travis Kelce has spoken publicly for the first time about his engagement to pop superstar Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, and the 14-time Grammy winner, also 35, delighted fans on Aug. 26 when they announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post.
In a teaser clip for Wednesday’s episode of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the three-time Super Bowl champion gushed about his fiancée.
“Travis, we’ve got to talk about it,” Jason said. “In case you missed the Instagram post heard around the world, Travis and Taylor are engaged!”
“That’s right,” Travis replied. “I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something, and all the posts, all the excitement that’s been going on. It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
The couple shared the news with a playful Instagram caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift wrote alongside a photo of Kelce down on one knee in a colorful garden.
Kelce proposed at his Missouri mansion shortly after recording an episode of New Heights, presenting Swift with a large diamond ring.
