Tyler Perry Accused of Ignoring Reports of Abuse at His Studio

Tyler Perry is accused of turning a blind eye to reports of abuse at his Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

Last month, a former “The Oval” cast member, Derek Dixon, filed a $260 million sixual harassment lawsuit against Tyler Perry.

Now actor Braxton Wells, who appeared in 2 episodes of “The Oval” in uncredited roles, has accused Tyler of ignoring reports of abuse by studio head Mark E. Swinton.

Swinton, 56, currently serves as Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios.

In a series of posts on Instagram, Wells claims he gave Derek Dixon evidence for his lawsuit against Tyler. He said Dixon refused to help him with his own case against Tyler. Wells filed a lawsuit against Tyler Perry, Mark E. Swinton, and Tyler Perry Studios. The lawsuit was settled out of court in 2024.

In one post, Wells quoted scripture before explaining that Swinton “groomed and raped me” while he was under Swinton’s influence. He said Swinton flew him from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses.

“Tyler Perry, you built your empire on the image of a God-fearing man, yet when darkness crept in through your own executive, you chose silence. You retained a predator in your house and helped cover it up, protecting your brand over a broken human life. That’s not faith — that’s fraud. Yahweh Elohim sees all. He is not mocked.”

Wells continued: “You hid behind Hollywood politics, lawyers, and NDAs. You thought your money could bury truth. But no contract signed under duress, no manipulation by a corrupt attorney, and no celebrity circle will stop Yahweh’s judgment.”
