Former “The Oval” actor Derek Dixon has accused movie and TV magnate Tyler Perry of sexual harassment and gender violence in the workplace.
Dixon, who portrayed the gay, flamboyant character Dale in both “The Oval” and “Ruthless,” filed a $260 million lawsuit against Perry in California on June 13.
The lawsuit includes evidence submitted to the court, such as text messages exchanged between the two men over the years.
“I haven’t been touched in months…”
According to the court documents, Perry promised to produce Dixon’s TV pilot and cast him in his shows, “The Oval” and “Ruthless.”
The complaint accused Perry of subjecting Dixon to “escalating sexual harassment, assault and battery, and professional retaliation when Mr. Dixon did not reciprocate Mr. Perry’s unwanted advances.”
The text messages portray Perry, 55, as a lonely elder gay, desperate for attention from a much younger man.
Perry told Dixon that he had sex with men before and that “he was a top”. He also told Dixon “when you have a big d*ck and when you hit the G-spot right on these bottoms, they go crazy.”
Highlights from Tyler Perry’s text messages:
1. “No Straight man would be going on walks with you or cooking dinner for you unless they wanted to f*** you. I would f*** you.”
2. “You home? I don’t want you out with your ‘friends’. Drinking.”
3. “You are the rose. But you are so blocked [sexually] that you refuse to be smelt or opened.”
4. “…when you finally are able to unlock your mind, you’re going to make that person crazy. Crazy in a good way.”
5. “Have you been intimate with someone?”
6. “Why did that photo [of Dixon and a male cast member] make me jealous. You two together.”
7. “unlock your mind you’re going to make that person crazy… Crazy in a good way.”
8. “What’s it going to take for you to have guiltless sex? Have you found that yet in therapy?”
9. “Whoever ends up with me is gonna be a happy motherf*****.”
10. “You have to be able to say no [to propositions for sex]. And mean it and make it
clear.”
11. “I was gonna say. Your cowboy needs a sugar daddy.”
12. “I would hope that you would let some one hold you and make love to you. You are missing the best years of your life my friend. Trust me. I hope you get past that block in your mind soon.”
13. “I give and give and give and no one ever does anything for me in return. No one ever gives me what I want or what I need.”
14. “Listen to me. If you let the cast know that you and I have a new friendship then you are opening yourself up to a lot of questions and foolishness. You want them to KNOW that you’re there because of your talent and not because we have a friendship or because Tony [Conway] got me to give you a job.”
15. “But I swear to you. I KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS SH*T! I love killing a motherf***** in a show that no one expects.”
Tyler Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, said in a statement to @TMZ: “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
