Moment ‘gunman shoots dad, 60, dead through downstairs window’ in broad daylight

Neighbors rushed to the aid of a terraced property in Stanley, County Durham, on Saturday afternoon after shots rang through the window.

A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics. His family has been informed of his tragic passing.

The horrifying incident, which circulated on local WhatsApp groups and social media, captured on video, shows two individuals approaching a house around 5:17 p.m.

One of them appears to break the window, while the other pulls out a gun.

A deafening shot echoes through the blinds as the gun is fired, followed by the sight of two people sprinting away.

In response to the commotion, neighbors emerge from their homes, and a passing car stops to offer assistance.

Following the shooting, two individuals—a 35-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man—were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

The pair are currently in police custody as investigators thoroughly examine the scene and conduct door-to-door inquiries.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Neil Fuller, of Durham Constabulary, expressed shock over the incident, stating that a man had been shot and sadly succumbed to his injuries.

He emphasized the importance of multiple lines of inquiry and urged anyone who witnessed the incident, possesses dashcam footage, or has CCTV footage that hasn’t been reported to the police to come forward.

Officers may be seen in the area to enhance the police presence.
